Audio trails

If it ain’t broke…

Our GPS audio guides were available on the EveryTrail walking app. This great app allowed walkers to be able to download rich content to play offline when out on a trail. It ensured you had all of the information you’d need about a point of interest including contact details, a description, a picture. and best of all, audio.

Sadly, the audio was switched off by the new owners of EveryTrail who are AllTrails – all our tours have been removed as they bear no resemblance to how we have envisaged the tours to be used and enjoyed. We’ve been adding the audio and text for each of these tours on our Audioboom archives which can in turn be enjoyed on your favourite podcast platform. Bear with us as we complete the transition for 2022.

Bluestack Way Guide

Bluestack Way Guide

The hills are alive

Our most ambitious audio guide was for the Bluestack Way, a 51km national waymarked way through often remote areas of County Donegal with spectacular views as it traverses the Bluestack Mountains. It connects Donegal Town with the town of Ardara on the west coast, taking in the town of Glenties on its route following directional yellow arrows and yellow ‘walking man’ signs familiar to walkers worldwide. The video above will give you a flavour of the many treats the audio offered the walker. UPDATE: Rebooted and ready for 2022 here!

Best of Irish Heritage Towns

Best of Irish Heritage Towns

We produced audio guides from Donegal to Youghal via Sligo, Cashel, Nenagh and Durrow amongst other places. This series of EveryTrail guides brought the aforementioned heritage towns together in one place. We were fortunate to have selected a number of towns that took great pride in their rich heritage and had some great ambassadors to tell the respective town’s history with style. With the demise of EveryTrail, we’re endeavouring to have these guides on all podcast platforms via Audioboom by 2022.

In Cashel, we produced audio tours in all main European languages.

The real gem of Laois

The real gem of Laois

The Stokes family of the famous Castle Durrow asked us to do a series of audio tours around the picturesque village for their guests. The Durrow Guide was the end result and contained four audio guides as well as a Best of Laois guide. The easiest audio trail was a walk around the castle’s garden, two were nature walks and one was a High Nelly trail no less. Again, with the demise of EveryTrail, we are transferring all audio material to podcast platforms via Audioboom.

Wide variety

From a South Roscommon Heritage Trail to a Medieval food Tour for Nenagh, we produced some weird and wonderful trails that allowed walkers combine fitness and scenery with audio to tell them about their tour. Our audio trail of Sligo Town told them of its many literature connections while our Donegal Town heritage trail not only told them about its rich heritage, but also added a lot ancillary trails for the many other activities to do in the area. All shall be reinstated on Audioboom for podcast platforms in 2022.

A bog tour, a poetry tour, a haunted mountain tour – we have been lucky to produce audio guides throughout the island on a wide range of topics. Get in touch with us to arrange a free consultation on how we might be able to bring the colour of your community to life for all to enjoy on their podcast platform.
